SOP: Calibration of DELos SI Pressure Transmitter for Level Measurement

1. Purpose

To set up and scale the DELos SI pressure transmitter for accurate level measurement in a tank.

2. Tools Required

  • Allen key or screwdriver (0.5 × 3 mm)

  • Power supply to transmitter

  • Process tank with liquid

3. Safety

  • Ensure transmitter is properly mounted and no leakage is present.

  • Perform calibration only when process is stable.

4. Procedure

Step 1: Unlock the Instrument

Default code = 0072

  1. Unscrew the protective screw.

  2. Insert tool in the programming slot.

  3. Press until the 3rd digit from left blinks and display turns red.

  4. Rotate and set value to 7.

  5. Press until the 4th digit blinks.

  6. Rotate and set value to 2.

  7. Press once to enter parameter mode.

Step 2: Set Unit (Uni.P)

  1. Rotate until Uni.P appears.

  2. Press once.

  3. Select mbar.

  4. Press once to confirm.

Step 3: Set Damping (Dam.P)

  1. Rotate until Dam.P appears.

  2. Press once.

  3. Set value to 1.0 s.

  4. Press once to confirm.

Step 4: Set Output Type (S.TyP)

  1. Rotate until S.TyP appears.

  2. Press once.

  3. Select 4.20A (4–20 mA).

  4. Press once to confirm.

  5. Press and hold for >3 seconds to return to measurement mode.

Step 5: Set Low Level (Zero Reference)

  1. Fill tank until just the diaphragm is covered.

  2. Wait until reading is stable.

  3. Note the pressure value displayed.

Step 6: Set High Level (Span Reference)

  1. Fill tank to maximum required level.

  2. Wait until reading is stable.

  3. Note the pressure value displayed.

Step 7: Set Scaling Low (Sc.Lo)

  1. Press once to enter parameter mode.

  2. Rotate until Sc.Lo appears.

  3. Press once.

  4. Enter low-level pressure value.

  5. Press once to confirm.

Step 8: Set Scaling High (Sc.Hi)

  1. Rotate until Sc.Hi appears.

  2. Press once.

  3. Enter high-level pressure value.

  4. Press once to confirm.

5. Final Check

  • Verify:

    • 4 mA = Low level

    • 20 mA = High level

  • Check few intermediate levels.

6. Quick Troubleshooting (Because physics sometimes misbehaves)

  • Fluctuating reading → increase damping.

  • Wrong level mapping → recheck Sc.Lo and Sc.Hi.

  • No output change → check loop wiring and S.TyP.
